Global Village and EXPO-Area

The Global Village will be the hub of the festival. Here we will experience how 'Real life has no borders', particularly in the work of various YMCAs. We will focus on meeting, respecting, understanding and learning from other YMCAs and other people.

Therefore national, regional and local YMCAs from all over Europe and beyond will present exciting projects and transform a part of the festival ground into an EXPO-Area.
There will also be other places for information - such as the festival and the Global Village information points - places for exchange - cafes, bistros, a tent for YMCA professionals, a small jam stage - and places for discussions. The Global Village will offer possibilities to learn and to get active - arts and crafts, workshops, street theatre, juggling, games, dance... - as well as possibilities to relax - a hammock village and a wellness area and much, much more.

Find out more about the variety of Activities in the Global Village and see what will be going on in the presentation below.

We would also invite you to be active yourself by presenting your project in that exciting part of the festival. Therefore we would ask you to fill in the form attached and to send it to the Günter Lücking by February 28th 2008.

Something is always going on in the Global Village: the bistros and cafes will be open each day apart from Thursday (City Action) from 12am. to 8pm. and again from 10pm. to midnight (just always when you are on the festival ground apart from the times of the Morning and Main Stage Shows). The presentation stalls are open daily from 1pm. to 6pm. (apart from Thursday). In the afternoons there will be workshops here, and parts of the Late Night Programmes will also take place in and close to the Global Village, as well.
