Workshops

Each Afternoon during the festival (except Thursday) there will be the opportunity to take part in a wide range of workshops. The workshops will give the participants the chance to interact, to learn, to discuss, to try out new activities... but most of all to have fun!!! Many of the workshops will be highly participative and will cater for all tastes, ages and abilities.

Here is a small selection of workshops that will be offered:

  • Fun, Funky Fitness
  • Russian Folk Dance
  • What is Real Life: in our countries and YMCAs
  • Ten Sing workshops
  • Traditional Scottish Highland Games
  • Coaching and Mentoring
  • Print your own T-shirt or bag
  • Developing a Global World-view at your local YMCA
  • Cardio Kickbox Combo
  • Junkin' Garbage Band - make and perform music out of random objects
  • Youth as Peace Builders

... and many more!

Why not get creative by running your own workshop? We are still looking for challenging topics, interactive tasks, and new perspectives to be shared in the workshops sessions. There are no limitations to what the workshops can be about, and we are seeking ideas that are new and innovative. Workshops may be one off sessions or run over a series of sessions; they can be games based; sports based; practical; shared learning; spiritual; cultural; skills building; creative arts; music; drama; language sharing; peer led; capacity building; personal development .........

If you have any further questions concerning the workshops, please read "information on workshops at the festival". If you want to offer a workshop fill in the form "Expression of interest to offer a workshop at YMCA Europe Festival 2008" and send it to the address indicated.
